Digital Guidebook for RFP
Illinois Public Act 102-1101 was recently passed and creates an exciting opportunity for NSLP schools to be more selective with their food service partnerships. Previously, Illinois schools had to submit an IFB (Invitation for Bid), which required them to choose a partner that presented the lowest cost bid, regardless of other factors such as food quality.
Going forward, the new bill allows NSLP schools to submit an RFP (Request for Proposal), which encourages schools to broaden their considerations to include factors such as Food Quality & Taste, Health & Well-Being, Ingredient Sourcing Practices, Animal Welfare Policies and More!
The end result? A better food program for more students!
